Have you noticed some changes with your LinkdIn, Facebook and Twitter accounts? Are still trying to figure out what they are and how to use them to your benefit?
Over the past couple of days, the Social Media Examiner summarized those changes in couple of reports and I’d like to share them with you, just in case you missed them:
Besides regular recommendations, you now have an option to endorse your connection’s skill, or skills, with one click. You may even recommend a skill that your connection has not listed. Here is a link to the LinekdIn blog where you can learn more about this feature.
Here is the article on how to use targeted posts to improve your Facebook engagement (by the Social Media Examiner). As of now, you have the option to target a particular segment of your audience if your page has more than 5,000 likes, but hopefully soon, Facebook will make it available to all Pages.
In addition, all of you who are using DropBox for storing and sharing files, might appreciate this time-saver: you may now share your DropBox content within you Facebook Groups. Here, you can read more about it.
Twitter recently announced the addition of a header image to profiles. This means that you may now have a custom background as well as your own custom header (with the recommended dimensions of 1200×600). Just go to your settings, click on design, roll down to “header”, and upload your masterpiece.
In case you were already planning to design the header to include some quick info about your business, maybe a tagline – keep in mind that your profile picture and profile description will be displayed over the header. I suggest you keep the header clean so the profile picture and description are clearly visible and incorporate any other content into the background image instead.
As always, I am looking forward to your insights, observations and questions, feel free to share them on my Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/vbmpro
